TEST DRIVE
Hurricanes
Hurricanes change the Earth's surface through very high winds and water. There are five different categories that describe how strong they are as they travel over land and sea.
Strong winds cause changes to Earth. Winds change the land by blowing soil from one area to another making hills where they weren't before and putting it in another place. The strong winds also destroy plants and trees by blowing them down.
Water from hurricanes can cause changes to the Earth's surface. It can cause flooding and erosion of soil. It can wash away hills, roads, and trails. It can smash the coast with lots of water and change it.
The wind and rain from a hurricane can change the Earth's surface. A hurricane is dangerous to people and property also.
